More than 60% of people living with schizophrenia have at least 1 negative symptom despite treatment with antipsychotics
Negative symptoms of schizophrenia affect motivation, being social, and joy. Even when treated with medication, you, or someone you care for who lives with schizophrenia, may have a hard time with daily tasks because of negative symptoms, that's because there are no approved treatments for negative symptoms.

Not want to do anything like clean her room
Not want to do activities that make her happy like write in her journal
Stay away from other people like family and friends
Show less emotion on her face when her mother shares good news
Speak very little when her friends try to talk to her

There are limited treatment options for negative symptoms, but there are new therapies and technologies in development. Many people living with schizophrenia may not notice how negative symptoms impact their lives.
