Answers to common questions

Did you turn the clear base by mistake before you inserted the cartridge?

Open the cap, press the dose-release button, then insert the cartridge.

Is this a cartridge replacement?

New cartridges protrude further from the inhaler base than the very first cartridge. Insert the cartridge into the inhaler until it clicks into place. Then put the clear base back into place.

Have you put the transparent base back on?

If not, put the transparent base back into place to release the inhaler. The reusable Respimat inhaler only works if the base is in place.

Did you turn the transparent base?

If not, turn the transparent base in a continuous movement until it clicks (half a turn).

Does the dose indicator on the cartridge show a white arrow against a red background?

The cartridge is empty. Insert a new cartridge and put the transparent base back into place.

Pull on the cartridge while turning at the same time.

Did the transparent base come loose and does the dose indicator on the cartridge show a white arrow against a red background?

The cartridge is empty. Insert a new cartridge.

Did you already turn the transparent base?

If yes, follow steps “Open” and “Press” under “Daily Use”.

Did you use the Respimat as indicated (two puffs once daily)?

Each cartridge will last 30 days if used at two puffs once a day.

Did you spray in the air often to check whether the Respimat is working?

Once you have prepared the Respimat for first use, a test spray is not necessary if used daily.

Have you taken off the transparent base and put it back into place repeatedly?

Do not remove the transparent base until the cartridge is empty. Each time the transparent base is removed without changing the cartridge, the dose counter counts one spray and thus reduces the number of remaining sprays.

Did you insert a cartridge?

If not, insert a cartridge. The Respimat must not be disassembled again once the cartridge has been inserted and the transparent base put back on.

Did you repeat the steps "Turn" - "Open" - "Press" at least three times after inserting the cartridge?

Repeat these steps after inserting the cartridge at least three times as described above in steps 4-6 under "Prepare for use".

Does the dose indicator on the cartridge show a white arrow against a red background?

The cartridge is empty. Insert a new cartridge.

Was the cap open when you turned the transparent base?

Close the cap first and then turn the transparent base.

Did you press the dose release button while turning the transparent base?

Close the cap so that the dose release button is covered, and then turn the transparent base.

Did you stop when turning the transparent base before it clicked?

Turn the transparent base in a continuous movement until it clicks into place (half a turn). The dose counter still counts one spray even for if the turn was incomplete, and thus reducing the number of remaining sprays.

Was the cap open when you inserted the cartridge?

Close the cap first and then insert a new cartridge.
